QUETTA: Five people were killed and two others injured in incidents of firing in the provincial capital and Tump area of the Turbat district on Sunday, police sources said.

Two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on Mohammad Aslam and Shahzad Bashir in the Manno Jan road area of Quetta, killing them on the spot.

Aslam and Bashir belonged to Dera Ghazi Khan and had come to Quetta in search of work two days ago.

Police termed the incident an act of target killing.

The bodies were sent to D.G. Khan after an autopsy.

Another man, identified as Anwar Maseeh, was shot dead in Shahzab Town. The cause of the killing remains unclear.

The injured were admitted to a hospital.

BULLET-RIDDLED BODY: A bullet-riddled body was found in the Sarah Kadi area of the Loralai district.

Levies Force sources said people of the area informed them about the presence of the body.

The man was hit in the chest and head.

A letter found on the body identified him as Mohammad Nasim.

The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the killing, saying he was involved in spying that had resulted in the death of three Taliban in Lal Katai area of Loralai.

The letter warned that anybody found spying on the Taliban would meet the same fate.

KIDNAPPED: An engineer of a mobile phone company was kidnapped in Mastung area, Levies Force sources said.

Hafiz Mohammad Ejaz was taken away by armed men when he was coming back to Quetta from Mangocher area where he along with other staff had gone for inspection of the mobile company’s towers.

The armed men intercepted their vehicle and took away Ejaz.

His colleagues informed the police about the incident.
