KARACHI, Dec 15: A judicial magistrate on Thursday granted bail to 18 suspects in a case pertaining to rioting.Police arrested the suspects following a clash between two groups of oil tankers associations within the remit of the Jackson police station.

The police produced the suspects before the judicial magistrate (west), Ashfaq Ahmed Nizamani, and the court granted them bail against the surety bonds of Rs10,000 each since they were booked under bailable offences.

A case (FIR No 680/11) was registered under Sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 337-H (II) (punishment of hurt by rash or negligent act) of the PPC.—Staff Reporter
