Security neighbourhood system

ISLAMABAD, Dec 14: The capital police are introducing ‘Security Neighbourhood System’ in two sectors of the city as pilot project with an aim to curb robbery and theft cases.

In the initial phase the system will be installed in the houses of sectors G-10 and G-11and it will be extended to other residential areas and sectors.

In a meeting Inspector General of Police Bani Amin Khan directed SHOs of all police stations to make citizens aware of the new system’s advantages.

Special bells will be installed in houses of neighbours and a ‘common button’, resembling an electric button, will be placed on the wall or any other accessible position of a house.

In case of any emergency the button will be pushed by the inmates to intimate their neighbours who would then inform the police.—Staff Reporter
