LAHORE, Dec 4: A 32-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by his female relative following a 'domestic quarrel' in Shama Colony of Factory Area on Sunday.

The victim, Hakim Ali, who was a vegetables and grocery retailer, later succumbed to his wounds at the Lahore General Hospital.

Factory Area SHO Shahbaz Ali said Hakim went to the house of his uncle Ali to mediate between Ali and his brother-in-law Nadeem Hyder.

Hakim tried to reconcile the parties but failed, resulting in a physical clash between him and Nadeem.

During the clash, Nadeem's wife Moona picked a knife and attacked Hakim from rear, leaving him critically injured. He was shifted to the hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. The suspect fled the scene.

The SHO said the victim's family got registered a case against the woman.

POISONING: A 42-year-old passenger was found dead in a bus at Manga Mandi on Sunday.

Police suspected the man took some poisonous substance.

The bus driver handed over the body to the local police who shifted it to Jinnah Hospital's morgue for autopsy.

Manga Mandi police said the victim, identified as Rana Tasleem Javed of Kehror Pakka, a father of five, was posted at a post office in Islamabad. He was going home during Muharram holidays.

ASI Karamat Ali said the family refused an autopsy and gave a statement that they did not want any legal action.
