KARGIL WAR COMMISSION: The People’s Labour Bureau of Pakistan has demanded of the Supreme Court to constitute a commission to probe the killing of 1,400 Pakistani soldiers in the Kargil war.

“Our 1,400 soldiers were killed in Kargil because of the secret deal between former premier Mian Nawaz Sharif and then American president Clinton but no commission is constituted as yet. In order to make everything clear about the Kargil the apex court should constitute a memogate scandal like commission to probe the Kargil war,” said Khwaja Mohammad Awan, secretary general PLBP, while speaking at a gathering held to observe the 45th anniversary of Pakistan People’s Party on Sunday.

Khawaja Awan expressed his wonder over appointment of the son-in-law of a former judge, who handed over the death sentence to PPP leader Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, as the head of the memogate scandal.

“I am shocked that what sort of the commission it is which is constituted within a day to probe a baseless memogate scandal,” remarked Mr Awan.

The other speakers paid rich tributes to late PPP leader Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and said Mr Bhutto was the man of character who sacrificed his life but did not bow before a dictator.

The meeting through a unanimously adopted resolution demanded of the provincial president of the PPP to appoint deserving candidates as the party office-bearers in Mansehra.
