LAHORE, Nov 4: The CIA police arrested three policemen, including the New Airport police post in charge, for their alleged involvement in robberies and street crime.

A source said those arrested were identified as police post in charge Muhammad Sarwar and constables Azmat and Khalid.

Their arrest came on the statement of arrested robber Arshad who disclosed during interrogation that Sarwar and two other policemen were also involved in robberies and street crime.

WARDENS: Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Admin Tariq Abbas Qureshi has relieved three constables and directed them to report to the Lahore chief traffic officer for their appointment as wardens.

According to a handout issued on Friday, constables Ghulam Ashraf, Amjad Ali and Waqas Ahmad were selected by the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) as wardens.

MEETING: Lahore Navy Station Commander Commodore Akbar Naqi called on Capital City Police Officer Ahmad Raza Tahir at his office here on Friday.

The station commander discussed with the CCPO various matters of professional interest, says a handout.
