RAWALPINDI, Nov 2: Police have not found any clue to a gang of two women and their three male accomplices who kidnapped three female teachers and snatched gold ornaments from one of them on Tuesday.

The teachers from Liaquat Girls High School in Mughalabad, who had been assigned to prepare the election lists, were waiting for a taxi outside the commissioner's office when they found a woman standing beside a white Corolla car.

The woman walked towards the teachers and offered them a lift, saying she was also going to Dhoke Syedan. The three teachers, including Shafqat Sultana, boarded the car in which one woman was already sitting. Ms Sultana said she got worried when the car driver negotiated a turn on the wrong side instead of heading towards Dhoke Syedan.

“As I asked the driver why he was moving towards the wrong direction, he said he was going to a gas filling station.”

After moving a few metres ahead, the driver stopped the car near two persons along the roadside. The two men also got into the car which started moving towards Rawat,” Ms Sultana said in her complaint lodged with the Civil Lines police.

She said one of the robbers snatched gold ornaments from her and taunted his accomplice woman that she had wrong information about the teachers as the other two teachers were carrying no money or jewellery.

The car continued moving towards Rawat after crossing two major police pickets, one of which was manned by police and armymen at Morgah.

After reaching near Rawat, the culprits pushed the teachers out of the car at a deserted place and disappeared.

Sub-Inspector Jehangir Khan said he had received copy of the FIR in the afternoon and was yet to start probe into the case.

“I called the victim to come to the police station and help in the investigation. It is the victim who is to tell the police about the robbers and their whereabouts,” the investigating officer said.

He added that photographs of some women pickpockets and others involved in street crimes would be shown to the victim to identify them. He said the complainant had not mentioned whether the robbers were carrying pistols.
