PESHAWAR, Oct 28: The Peshawar High Court on Friday granted bail to an accused charged in a murder case of his wife and neighbour.
A single bench comprising Justice Dost Mohammad Khan accepted a bail petition filed by the accused, Feroze Khan, and directed him to furnish two sureties of Rs300,000 each.
The occurrence had taken place in the jurisdiction of Tanghi police station in Charsadda on March 16, 2007. The accused remained absconder and was arrested by the police a few weeks ago. The police charged him with the killing of his wife and neighbour, Zahid Gul, inside his home as he suspected them of having illicit relations.
The complainant in the case was Sabz Ali, brother of Zahid Gul. He alleged that his brother was present at home when the accused called him stating that he got something important to tell him. He claimed that his brother did not return home and later his body was recovered from the house of the accused the next morning. He had also charged a brother and nephew of the accused in the case.
Advocate Fawad Ahmad Uthmankhel appeared for the petitioner and contended that he was falsely implicated in the case as the statement of the complainant was in conflict with evidence on record. He stated that the complainant had charged the accused after six days after the crime was committed and question arose why he waited for six days when he was sure that his brother was killed by the accused?
He contended that the complainant had charged three persons for the offence whereas the report of ballistics expert showed that four bullets were fired from two different weapons, which meant that there were only two attackers.
