LAHORE, Oct 10: The South Cantonment police arrested a woman for killing her second husband with the help of her son and two accomplices after the body of the 36-year-old rickshaw driver was found dumped near Asghari Market on Monday.

The police said Muhammad Fiaz, of Kir Khurd, Bedian Road, was stabbed to death by his wife, Robina, his stepson Aamir, and two others over a domestic dispute on Sunday night.

The suspects wrapped the body in a piece of cloth and dumped it at some distance from the house. The police said Rubina, a mother of four, married Fiaz after divorcing her first husband Afzal. Rubina’s son Aamir Afzal, who is also a rickshaw driver, and Fiaz often used to quarrel with each other over domestic issues.

Shortly after they had an argument on Sunday, Rubina, Aamir and their two accomplices attacked Fiaz with knives and killed him.

SUUCUMBS: A 23-year-old woman died of burns at Mayo Hospital on Monday few days after she was set ablaze allegedly by her in-laws in Shaheenabad locality of Sherakot.

Sania Pervaiz, of Shadbagh, was set ablaze by her husband Muhammad Ashfaq and his family members over a domestic dispute.

A mother of three daughters was often reprimanded by her in-laws for giving birth to only girls. The police have already taken Ashfaq, his brother Shahzad and their mother Rani Bibi into custody. — Staff Reporter
