RAWALPINDI, Oct 5: The Airport Security Force (ASF) on Wednesday seized 13kg heroin at Benazir Bhutto Airport and arrested its carrier, an official said.

He said the heroin, which was to be smuggled to Ivory Coast via Dubai, was recovered from the passenger during the check-in for Dubai-bound Emirates flight EK-615. Sub-Inspector Mushtaq Ahmad of the ASF spotted the passenger acting suspiciously. The official searched his two suitcases which led to the recovery of the heroin. The accused, identified as Kamran Saleem Masih, a resident of Ferozpur Road in Lahore, was handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force.

The accused told the authorities that he used to travel abroad from Karachi and it was for the first time he was trying to leave the country from Benazir Bhutto Airport.— Staff Reporter
