KARACHI, Oct 3: The prime suspect in the woman’s murder case was on Monday remanded in police custody for five days by a judicial magistrate. The suspect — Niaz alias Niazi — with the help of his three accomplices had allegedly killed a woman, Jahanzeba, and buried her inside her house.

The three other suspects — Tahir, Muhaib-ur-Rahman and Abida — were already in police custody while suspect Niaz was arrested in this case on Sunday.

The police produced all the four suspects before Judicial Magistrate (west) Afzal Roshan on Monday. The court remanded the prime suspect, Niaz, in police custody for five days, while it sent the other three to jail on judicial remand.

A case (FIR 448/2011) was registered pertaining to the mysterious disappearance of Jahanzeba on a complaint of her brother at the Jackson police station.

Later, the police took into custody three suspects, including a woman, and on a lead given by them, they disentered the body of the victim on Sept 27 in the courtyard of her house in Sultanabad in the presence of a judicial magistrate.
