KOHAT, Oct 2: A man and his two sons were shot dead and another member of the family was injured in the name of honour in Afghan refugee camp in Darsamand area of Hangu district on Sunday.

The police said the family originally belonged to Khost province of Afghanistan and was residing as refugees in the Sarozai camp in Darsamand.

They developed a dispute over the issue of honour of their women with a rival family whose armed men entered their house and sprayed the family members with bullets.

As a result Ayub Khan and his sons Mohammad Ameen and Noor Wali died on the spot while another one was injured whose name could not be ascertained. The injured was stated to be a woman who saved her life by hiding inside a room of the house. The bodies of the deceased and the injured were taken to local hospital.

The dispute erupted when the culprits were told by somebody that their daughter used to go to the house of the deceased. After hearing this they rushed towards that house with automatic weapons and killed the man and his two sons. It could not be confirmed whether the attackers found their daughter inside the house or they killed the people on mere assumption.

The police learnt from the injured that Gul Baz and his sons Abdul Jabbar, Gul Nawaz and Said Nawaz were the culprits who managed to escape after committing the crime. The police registered the case against the accused and launched search for their arrest.
