KARACHI, Sept 26: Four suspects allegedly involved in targeted killings were arrested in Baldia Town, police crime investigation department claimed on Monday.

The four suspects — Anisur Rehman, Abdul Rehman, Aslam Pirzada and Nasir Saeed — were arrested in the Rasheedabad area of Baldia Town, a handout issued by the CID police stated.

The police allegedly recovered one AK-47 assault rifle, two TT pistols, one 9mm pistol and bullets from their possession.

During the interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed that they were involved in eight cases of targeted killings, including the killings of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf activist Hafeezur Rehman alias Bottle in April 2009, Pakistan People’s Party activist Qamar Abbas alias Gogi in May 2009, Sunni Tehrik activist Farhan Qadri and his wife in Baldia Town in April 2011 and Awami National Party activist and UC-7 president of the Baldia Town Khalid Khan in May 2010, the handout added.—Staff Reporter
