KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Governor Sindh Ishratul Ebad on Monday said that indiscriminate action against criminal elements would continue in order to restore peace in Karachi, DawnNews reported.

Mr Malik and Mr Ebad met at the Governor House in Karachi today and reviewed the city's overall security situation.

Mr Ebad said that Karachi was the backbone of the country's economy and restoring peace in the metropolis was the government's highest priority.

Mr Malik said that Rangers and police were playing a significant role in this regard and that there could be no compromise on peace in the city.

He further said that police and Rangers would continue the operations until Karachi’s peace was restored.
