TAXILA, Sept 2: Armed robbers shot dead a person who resisted their attempt when they entered his house in Muneerabad locality in Wah Cantonment on Wednesday night. They also killed one of their own in the confusion.

Police sources said on Thursday that six armed dacoits scaled the walls of the house of Haji Lal Gull and made the inmates hostage at gunpoint. Haji Gull resisted when the dacoits started snatching jewelry from the female members. At this, they opened fire at him.

He received multiple bullet injuries. The hail of bullets also hit one of their accomplices. The dacoits fled leaving their injured colleague behind. Both victims of the firing were taken to THQ hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. The dacoits had not been identified by the time this report was filed.

The body of Mr Gull was handed over to the family for burial after autopsy. Wah Cantonment police registered a case against unknown dacoits and started further investigation.
