  1. Bazgha says:

    Loved it! Brilliant as usual!

  2. ziggy says:

Salaam…. nice … loved all of them except Zulfiqar Mirza…

My request to this person who made all the above funny writings, please do not make fun of Zulfiqar Mirza. The change that we’re seeing happening in Karachi against years of targeted killings and mayhem, is because why this brave man stood up and said what none of the politicians had the guts to say and do. He even talked openly against his own corrupt party members which none of the politicians do these days, they rather cover up their faults. Most of all he held the Quran in Ramadaan, so my request is please respect that man.

    Salaam

  3. pakistani says:

this was not cool at all, not good to make fun of people like this even if it is our corrupt politicians :(

  4. Ayub says:

Good Work. I could not stop my laugh.

  5. Tatheer says:

Nice work, why did you forget Nawaz sharif, Chudaries, Rehman M, many more??

  6. Yousaf says:

Nobody can beat pakistani humorists. Loved it.

  7. Abrar R says:

    That was pathetic as always.

  8. owais says:

woooowwwwwwwwwwww y u forget hamid mir n mubashir luqman n its gr8 han

  9. krishnan says:

Very unfair that you have forgotten Musharraf. He would have ordered the moon to follow a rectangular path to take care of all regions.

  10. Great work. JJ one is the funiest.

  11. Mav Khan says:

it’s always convenient to attract people on IK and then bash him …. just sayin .

  12. Janjua says:

    NFP,

    U are a Genius… Awesome…

  13. M Shakeel says:

Very Nice exploring the hidden truth.

  14. NFP, you have honestly made my eid; a few more politicans could have made the list.

  15. Saif says:

NFP is certainly one of a few sane voices left in the country!

  16. Salim says:

This needs great Gutts, Logic and Knowledge, Nadeem Bhai Great work, Hats off for you!!!!!!!!, waiting to see some more :P

  17. Kamaal JA says:

Pakistan is the only muslim country whihc quibbles over eid moon sighting.

  18. NFP – you are hilarious. I loved them all particularly Imran Khan watching drones in everything

    • Honey says:

irfan non sense you feel drones are good for pakistan and imran must recognise america for doing this.

      • Effzee says:

Honey, please do not over react. This is all in humor so let us keep it this way.

        • Asad says:

yeah i would never see people in USA trying to find humor in 9/11…I find it strange that anyone can find this humor? Guess their own homes are barred from those bombs so far!

          • T. Khan says:

One can find any meanings in Imran Khan pointing to drones depending & suiting their IQ. To me the idea was to have people of Pakistan scream more about drone attacks, complain to their to their elected/appointed/occupier political leaders to force Govt. of Pakistan in taking serious actions. The soft complains by the leaders who are on payroll will not get results, it will only happen if people of Pakistan jointly regardless of which part they live write to their leaders, write to UN and cc to White House, then only you will see the results. Imran Khan’s satire by NFP is only for people of Pakistan to take notice of the complicity of their elected leaders.

      • Honey! We dont suppport drone attacks; however I have never heard Imran Khan condemning the suicide blasts which have killed circa 30,000 innocent civilians across the country compared to 800 people (majority taliban terrorists, as USA claims) through drone attacks

        • Yusuf says:

If you’ve never heard then it doesn’t mean that he never said!

          • Sheeba says:

Imran Khan watching drones instead of moons was the funniest .. I dont know why people are over reacting at it, I think they didn’t get the actual meaning in this point .. most of the people couldn’t recognize the humor in it .. it was just to tell people what Imran Khan is always thinking of and planning to do ..

        • v khan says:

OH for gods sake! Some of you are taking this cartoon way too seriously, yes, it is serious..but to imply it is a way to try to get folks to “scream”. The mention of a drone is simply a symbol of the way Pakistanis carry on and argue over anything that keeps them from having to focus on such things as “work” for instance..This is exactly why my Lord demands that we get rid of religious practices that cause separation and division of men…remember ONE GOD!…The cartoon strip is totally hilarious! come on, you are allowed to laugh..seriously.

  19. I think we must not drag the army in our lust for show casing cheap caricatures.

  20. Pramod says:

The lady is Meher Buqari. She is a well known hawk among Pakistani TV circles and is known for extreme right anti-India views.

  21. hahahah! Oh my God, you’re outrageously hilarious!

  22. There could,t be a better mockery of people apt at fooling this nation than this..

  23. Hasan says:

The author could add more crunch to the Sarcasm or whatever if the main character in the Eid moon madness and that is Mufti Popalzai who is used to saw moon earlier in time in Pakistan ahead of the whole subcontinent would be discussed as well. An addendum to the article would be Altaf Bhai supporters stating Eid is linked to the 90 meeting and Shahbaz Sharif’s blind following of his Big brother stating when his Brother will say there is eid there will be eid could be an addition to the article as well. Last but not least Begum Nawazish Ali is missing from the article.

  24. amir khan says:

amazing, absolutely brilliant work. We need more people who have the guts to take on these people

  25. Kesar says:

Satire at its best. Hats off to you, Mr Paracha.

  26. Dear Nadeem

Great stuff. You’ve made my day :)
    Keep it coming

    Your fan

  27. Zolta says:

    NFP,
this is sheer brilliance. we need Zakir naik in it please…….

  28. Samejo says:

Nadeem possesses way of saying things that make you laugh and think simultaneously. This society needs such satire to survive its sense, which seems loosing it place

  29. far says:

    Zardari one if funniest .

  30. Sri says:

“hiding on the dark side of moon”, “it is drone”…
Creativity at best. Yes, Uganda agrees :)

  31. Khadija R says:

Very well written, it’s funny and thought provoking at the same time.

  32. Rizwan ul Haq says:

That’s hilarious and serious at the same time!!
Nice observation of the madness that so characterizes our society. Are we ever going to learn to conquer it, we wonder?

  33. GKrishnan says:

Takes real courage to laugh at oneself. Great stuff.

  34. Yashroon says:

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha…… awesome work….. this requires guts…. keep it up… :)

  35. In bad Taste, I must say.

  36. AAK says:

Finally something from Mr “bitter” Paracha which was worthwhile to read.

  37. Naeem says:

In this day and age when the new moon can be calculated very precisely , why are we resorting to primitive methods? Islam has to grow and evolve otherwise we will not even be able to celebrate our national and religious functions together. Islam is a very divided religion because of Mullah’s backwardness and uneducated masses!!!

    • Amjad says:

Brother According to shariah this matter is very simple and straight forward. The problem arises when we people and even some of the scholars donot follow shariah. The islamic month starts on sighting of moon with naked eye and we have to accept the witness when it fulfils criteria .Please donot say it primitive method .In this matter It is not necassary to see what the scientific calculations say .We people need to study the books of authentic scholars.

      • Sandip says:

BTW After analyzing I still do follow the instructions for my own sake. like not eating beef, I know the reason why this belief is there but I still don’t eat it because I don’t like to eat meat anyways, find vegetarian food more appealing. Though I still eat chicken and goat/lamb but not something that I like to eat.

      • salim says:

not necessary to see what the scientific calculations say? ironically when scholars are sick; they go to a doctor/hospital for treatment and don’t read their scholarly books

  38. Since we don’t get to see much of Pakistani TV soaps, it would be helpful to know who the lady with hair-do obsession is. Also who is the abusive guy?

  39. Rob says:

    Complete waste of time.

  40. Who are the last two people? If I know, I would enjoy them better.

    • gp65 says:

The woman is Meher Bokhari. She is a TV anchor who rallied people against Salman Taseer by repeatedly accusing him of blasphemy. After Taseer’s murder, she was fired from that particular channel but hired by another one. She started by being on Zaid Hamid’s programs. Recently she kicked up a big storm about Nawaz Sharif’s reasonable speech as SAFMA by characterizing it as a questioning of the Do Qaumi Nazariya and allowing Zaid Hamid to call SAFMA as an agent of RAW. 52 senior Pakistani journalists protested against this.

The man in Junaid Jamshed. HE became famous as a rockstar and made millions. Then one fine day he realized that music is haraam in Islam so he does not sing anything but naats. But he has no hesitation using his fame (gained as a rockstar) to advertise all kinds of halal products.

      • Junaid Jamshed has a garments boutiques Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Karachi … Good halal business :)

      • Junaid Jamshed seems like a very very good salesman :-) Pakistan must use his services as a PR manager for the country.

I know Meher Bukhari. The loud anchor, who speaks more than all her guests combined. I could not recognize her face, probably because she wears more makeup while on TV.

        • Sheeba says:

And probably because she doesn’t look that innocent on TV .. Plus she’s every time conscious of her looks especially hair style and dresses! :D

  41. Bangash says:

    LOL..Great and creative..

  42. Sajid says:

Ver, very creative. Zaid Hamid and Imran Khan were superb

  43. rehmat says:

Very creative and innovative and of course very funny

  44. ali says:

    NFP salute to ur courage.we r with you,plzzzzzzzzzzzzz keep on writing.you r our PROMETHEOUS.Lov u.

  45. sad face says:

the best one was imran khan. ha ha ha ha

  46. Baber says:

Finally, something original (but a tad bit recycled). I like it now that you are also using satire on JJ, MQM, and PPP. But you still haven’t spared pakistani che HG and dream boy IK.

  47. Asad says:

a lame attempt of humor – doesn’t worth a piece of paper it will be printed on…

  48. A.Bajwa says:

Why don’t we put an end to this moon sighting by giving it over to Meteorological Department.

  49. Sabs says:

Funny, esp the “law of gravity” book by Newton.. How could you NFP :) .

  50. Jawad says:

If your family was a victim of drone attack you would not have made fun of Imran Khan condemning drone attacks.

  51. Even the Aamir Liaquat thing didn’t sound funny! Not trying to be extra harsh on NFP – but seriously?

  52. abida says:

Nadeem this is so good. I just loved it, keep it up!

  53. khalid says:

Well NFP i liked this comic style of yours but i am a great admirer of JJ so I reserve my comments.

  54. shafi says:

ha ha ha, ho ho ho , hi hi hi !

  55. Kiq says:

What’s the point? A complete waste of time. I suggest being more productive.

  56. Khan says:

haha….. Amir Liaqat as Cuddly teddy bear while swearing!!

  57. K S Ali says:

Quite sexist to be honest. Is that all you can come up with for this woman? That’s offensive stereo typical, Pakistani men don’t need reinforcement of. Other than that, the rest is quite funny.

  58. Saif Ahmed says:

Absolute GEM, JJ wins! We need to pay him yet again.

  59. marvelous….I like the paragraphs what Kayani and Imran khan coded….lolzzz

  60. Amit says:

This will go down as best of NFP. Sometimes humor is the best way to really grasp reality. In the US, the daily show with Jon Steward and the Colbert Nation are top programs that do what NFP is showcasing here. Many Americans get their news from those shows now-a-days. NFP could easily be the lead writer for a similar show in Pakistan.

  61. M Baloch says:

But you missed real hero Mufti muneeb and Nawaz sharif who takes pains to go to Saudia to see it earlier every year..!

  62. T. Khan says:

Satire at its peak! Can’t get any better than that. Look it is not moon it is a Drone; HA HA HA HA; LOL.

  63. Rakeeb says:

NFP should start a TV talk show like Daily Show in the US. He has an excellent sense of humor in Pakistani politics.

  64. Aimal says:

What a lovely satire ! I laughed out load reading that ” The moon was a drone !!” Keep going. Humour is the spirit that one needs to thrive even in the most difficult times.

  65. Syed says:

creative and funny!! great job NFP!

  66. Madan Lal says:

That is superb….very different and very original. Yes you need to have one for your self also ;)

  67. Achoowehshi says:

Love it! Halal Eid sab ko Mubarak!

  68. Wonderful Nadeem F.Paracha….I think this is the most creative work to highlight the dilemma of Sighting moon in Pakistan..But NFP, what do you think if you had added the Ruawait-e-Halal kameeti drama :)
    It will be extra entertained

  69. arshy says:

love it and thanks for not poking fun at Musharraf (the only one who cares about Pakistan)

  70. A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!!!!!! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

  71. S M Shah says:

Eid Chuckle…I don’t know who the girl is…I can guess…and the JJ one, absolutely spot on…

  72. Misbah says:

    What can I say………Pathetic as usual………..

  73. El Cid says:

They abrogated the laws of physics, solid geometry, and empirical astronomy…and ‘saw’ what could not be there. And embarrassed the rest of us.

Finally a satire that got NFP his mojo back…But watch out…Satire can be hazardous for your health!

  74. NFP sahab maza aa gaya, i regulary follow ur blog and i think u r one of the best journlists pakistan today have like nazam sahab, i wish more the no of ppople like u across the border, lesser problme we have-india-pak rocks bt we are today bound by rocks unfortunate

  75. balbal says:

Zaid hamid satire was most funny…. his video of reaching moon in 5 yrs is fullfilled by NFP….bravo…..

  76. FLOGISTANI says:

I think this blog alone has enough authority to replace most of Pakistani Television News Media.. Come on everyone now collectively thank NFP for breathing some sense down our collective navels.. we need more where that came from. Eid Mubarak NFP and Khair Mubarak!

  77. Asad says:

I think there should one with NFP too. Pakis are still fighting for the moon sighting while extremists are asking the women to wear hijab. Thanks to Zia’s dictatorship we are still fighting over the moon. People in the West are so open minded, they don’t fight over moon, in fact they do not care about it. Bhutto would have secured a moon for our nation had he been in power little longer” :d

  78. A. Shiraz says:

Getting BETTER! You’re experimenting with more media… now don’t be too slow and grab a camera already and make shorts / documentaries / films (most importantly). We try fiction to blunt the hard and sharp edge of truth perhaps? To make it easy for people to swallow what we are saying and also to reduce the troubles that befall us for saying those things. Let us keep EDUCATING ourselves; go to the nearest university / studio / art school and keep experimenting with mediums (sculptures, paintings, film, voice, visuals etc. ) … Keep it up and encourage the others and we will all get to an enlightened pakistan IF you share it with people in a universal language (or atleast translate to other languages).

  79. Falcon says:

    LOL…Simply marvelous. Very creative.

  80. jafri says:

    hahaha. Enjoyed!

  81. Shah says:

Simply Amazing!!! with a few reservations!!!
