Yes they can play in a head scarf. This will also help prevent the hair impeding their field of vision, a job done by a forehead band. Burqa is a traditional head to toe cover worn by Afghan and some Indo-Pak muslim women. It is optional and has got nothing to do with Islam. Unfortunately the western media spreads disinformation instead of educating people about the different traditions and cultures that exists in the East.

Khan you are right but my answer to the above question is if a christian nun can play tennis in her veil then a Muslim woman can play it in her burqa, Simple as that, now you can make you own conclusions.
