KARACHI, Aug 21: The Customs’ drugs enforcement cell staff on Sunday morning seized 75 kilograms of heroin from the luggage of a passenger, Ghulam Mohammad, at the Karachi airport’s Jinnah Terminal.

A spokesman for the Customs said the heroin was packed in the boxes found with the luggage of the passenger, who was to board a Dhaka-bound flight.“The heroin powder was packed in the boxes generally meant for homeopathic medicines,” the spokesman, Qamar Thalho, said.

A sample of the powder was tested at a laboratory and it was confirmed by the evening that it was indeed heroin, he added.
