UET men remanded

LAHORE, July 29: A judicial magistrate on Friday remanded three accused involved in leaking entrance test paper of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), to Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) for one day.

The ACE personnel produced Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Anees and Shujauddin before the court and requested 13-day remand.

UET security officer lodged a case with Gujjarpura police under Section 409 (criminal breach of trust by a public servant) and Section 109 (abetment) of the Pakistan Penal Code against the officials.

tests rescheduled: University of Engineering and Technology’s Institute of Business and Management has rescheduled entrance tests for admission to BBA/MBA/EMBA scheduled for August 6. The new test date has been posted on institute’s website.

EXPLANATION: The Punjab higher education department has sought explanation from the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education chairman for announcing July 21 as the date for declaration of matriculation annual examination for 2011 results.

Also, the higher education department has asked all eight boards’ chairmen to prepare for the declaration of results on August 2.
