KOHAT, July 19: A young man strangled his father and buried his body in Tappi village on Tuesday after allegedly being refused share in property.

The relatives of the deceased, Subedan Gul, told the police that Raheemullah, the son of the victim, was involved in the murder of his father.

Following which the police dug out the body from the grave and after postmortem it was revealed that his death had been caused by suffocation. Later, Raheemullah admitted to having murdered his father by suffocating him with a bed sheet. The Jarma police registered a murder case against the accused.

SEED DISTRIBUTION:

Hundreds of farmers belonging to Darra Adamkhel and Jawaki area of the Frontier Region of Kohat on Tuesday demonstrated against the Fata agriculture department for unfair distribution of seed.

The tribal farmers said the Fata agriculture department had given seeds to blue eyed people depriving the deserving people of the government scheme. They demanded of the governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to take notice of the matter and ensure fair distribution of seed.

The deputy amir of the armed lashkar, Naib Khan, Sher Nawaz of Jawaki and Mohammad Badshah of Darra Adamkhel said that the agriculture department had distributed seed in violation of the years old tradition adopted in such cases.

They said the governments used to make announcements through loudspeakers in mosques and also took the elders of the areas into confidence before starting such schemes. But this time the standard procedure was not followed.

The assistant director of the Fata agriculture department, Darra Adamkhel and Orakzai Agency, Haisiatullah, said the seed was distributed in the presence of political tehsildar, Mr Rafique.

The assistant political agent of Frontier Region of Kohat, Fakhar Zaman, however, expressed his ignorance about distribution of seed and demanded the lists of the recipients to resolve the matter. He gave assurance that every body would get his due share.
