MURREE, July 14: Once soothing and picturesque tourist spot has become a hub of numerous problems as eve-teasing, unannounced loadshedding, shortage of water, supply of contaminated water, illegal coffee and ice-cream kiosks have caused troubles to the tourists.

Previously, the hill station remained exempted from loadshedding but this year unannounced power outages for hours had been irking the tourists. Thousands of people including women and children came to the Mall Road in the evening but they had to undergo torturing situation as the youngsters teased the families particularly during power outages. The residents and tourists severely criticised the unscheduled loadshedding despite that there was no industrial use of the electricity and no air conditioners.

Moreover, a large number of hand carts, illegal coffee and ice cream cabins were also causing severe problems for the tourists.

The situation becomes all the more worst due to the acute shortage of water while the contaminated water is being supplied. It is learnt that artificial water shortage has been created and the big hotels are being provided water after taking bribe. — Correspondent
