KOHAT, June 23: A man was shot dead over an old enmity while four members of a banned organisation were arrested here on Thursday in policemen thrashing case.

Police said that Abdullah was injured by his rivals in Jungle Khel area on Wednesday night. He succumbed to his injuries in a hospital on Thursday morning, they added.

They said that relatives of the victim later attacked the house of their rival, Noor Zaman, and set it on fire.

Meanwhile, Cantt police arrested four members of banned Muhammadzai Falahi Tanzeem for beating policemen. Police said that 34 members of the organisation were wanted in the case, registered against them last month.

The arrested persons were identified as Gulzar, Ziaullah, Faqir and Shah Nawaz. Police also seized two Kalashnikovs, two repeaters, one shotgun and 90 cartridges from their possession.

Meanwhile, wife of former MNA, Nadir Shah Afridi, died after protracted illness here on Thursday. She was the mother of Tariq Afridi, the director general of culture department. She was laid to rest in her ancestral graveyard in Naway Kallay.
