RAWALPINDI, June 17: A daughter of a retired army officer was stabbed to death by her two cooks in her parents' house in Gulraiz III on Friday, while her mother escaped the attack, police said.

First the alleged killers attempted to attack the victim's mother with a hunting knife but she locked herself inside a room. Then they went upstairs where Ms Shareen, 45, was residing.

The alleged killers Sattar, 14, and Waheed, 16, both are brothers, escaped from the scene. The police have recovered a 'hunting knife' believed to be the murder weapon from the scene of crime.

Ms Shareen Yunas, mother of three daughters, lived with her parents since her divorce.

The incident happened when Mohammad Yunas, a retired colonel, left his house to drop his granddaughters at their colleges leaving his wife and daughter at home. The badly injured woman was removed to a private hospital where she was pronounced dead.
