MANSEHRA, June 10: A man was shot dead by his friend while on excursion at a picturesque lake in Kaghan valley, police said on Friday. The victim, identified as Mohib Raza of Faisalabad, was allegedly shot dead by his friend Mohammad Usman, during a visit to the Ansoo (tear) Lake in Kaghan valley, according to the family members of Mr Raza, who found his body.

They were handed over the body after autopsy at the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital.

Mohammad Imran, cousin of the victim, lodged FIR against Mohammad Usman and his two brothers in Naran police for killing his brother.

According to family of the victim, when they contacted Usman by telephone for knowing whereabouts of Raza he told them that he (Raza) had committed suicide.

Police said Mohammad Usman and his friend Mohib Raza of Faisalabad came to Kaghan valley on June 3, and after visiting Saiful Muluk and Naran they went to the Ansoo Jheel where Mohammad Usman shot and killed Mohib Raza. The accused, according to the police, fled the scene after the incident.

RANGERS BRUTALITY: The district bar association has demanded of the government to take to task the Rangers personnel involved in the brutal killing of an unarmed youth in Karachi.

“We have no words to condemn this brutal murder of the unarmed youth in Karachi by the Rangers’ personnel.

Of course, it is not a crime to be pardoned at any cost and to eliminate such culture in future the Rangers men involved in the brutal killing should immediately be taken to task,” said a resolution, passed unanimously by the bar association at its meeting on Friday.

The meeting, which was held with Naseem Khan advocate, president of the bar in the chair, was attended largely by lawyers who expressed anger over the Karachi killing.

Speaking at a press conference after the meeting the Naseem Khan, former president Shahjahan Khan Swati, general secretary Malik Nasar Khan and others said it was highly astonishing for the nation as well for the lawyers that the personnel of the law-enforcement agencies were involved in the killing of innocent people.
