LAHORE, June 7: An accountability court on Tuesday ordered the police to arrest an official of the ministry of commerce and produce him on June 14.

NAB had filed a reference of Rs5.729 million bank fraud against Shahid Mehmood and others. The court repeatedly issued summons to the accused but he did not turn up.

The court also ordered for attachment of the accused's salary. Judicial commission:

A constitutional petition has been filed in the Supreme Court, seeking a judicial commission to probe into the murder of journalist Syed Saleem Shahzad.

The petitioner said the commission should be headed by a retired judge of the Supreme Court and its members should be journalists.

The petitioner, Barrister Zafarullah Khan, said more than 70 media persons had been killed in Pakistan since 2000, but the authorities failed to take the killers to the task.
