Man kills brother

CHAKWAL, June 6: A man gunned down his elder bother over a petty dispute, police said on Monday. Mohammad Nawaz, a resident of Dhok Baba Sher, had to pay some money to his younger brother Ziaul Haq.

On Sunday Zia demanded his money but his elder brother could not pay him. This enraged Zia who took out his pistol and opened fire on his elder brother killing him on the spot. — Correspondent

Boy dies

CHAKWAL, June 6: A boy died while his two relatives got injured after a slab fell on them.

According to details Yasir, 10, Umar Farooq, 12, and Ghulam Qasim, 11, were doing some digging at a mound when a slab fell on them.

They made hue and cry which attracted the villagers who removed them to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where Yasir died, while Umar and Qasim are reported out of critical condition. — Correspondent

Fatehjang SHO

ATTOCK, June 6: The district police on Monday appointed Inspector Asghar Goriya as Fatehjang Police SHO in place of Inspector Basharat Abbasi, who has been asked to report to district police lines.

Inspector Goriya was removed just two weeks back on May 20 from the post of Hazro Police SHO as he failed to control robberies in his area.— Correspondent

Nine arrested

ISLAMABAD, June 6: The capital police have arrested nine persons including two women drug peddlers and recovered narcotics, liquor and weapons from them.

A spokesman for the police said on Monday that the police during routine patrolling in the area of Pind Paracha spotted a woman while acting suspiciously.

Police intercepted the woman and during search recovered hashish weighing two kilograms from her. On her lead the police also arrested another woman and recovered hashish weighing two kilograms. The police also intercepted a man during patrolling near the Golra shrine and recovered 530 grams heroin from him.

The Shahzad Town police during patrolling arrested three persons from Iqbal Town and Rawal Dam Chowk and recovered a 30-bore pistol, 110 grams of heroin and two bottles of liquor. The Sabzi Mandi police arrested two persons and recovered two carbines and 12-bore gun from them. The Shalimar police arrested a man and recovered a 30-bore pistol from him.— Staff Reporter
