LAHORE, May 29: Naseerabad police claim to have busted a robber gang, arresting its three members and recovering nine cell phones, a motorcycle and three weapons from them.

According to the Model Town SP Operations, officials of Firdos Market police check-post captured ring leader Ahsan Sadiq and his two accomplices Azhar Zaheer and Umer Farooq from Makka Colony.

The suspects confessed to committing more than 10 street crimes involving cell phone and jewellery snatching in different parts of the city. The accused have been handed over to the investigation wing for further interrogation.

fire incidents: A fire broke out in a paper-board factory in Ittehad Colony on Multan Road early on Sunday, burning machinery and paper worth thousands of rupees.

Rescue 1122 said the cause of the fire was said to be a short circuit.

Fire incidents were also reported in a cell phone shop in Osama Centre on Hall Road, in a shop near Lahore Hotel and a house in Nishtar Block of Iqbal Town.

Rescue 1122 controlled the blaze.
