PESHAWAR, May 24: Two real brothers were injured and their shop was blown up in a bomb blast at Gulshanabad area of Matani on the suburbs of Peshawar on Tuesday.

Sources said that unidentified persons planted an explosive device beneath a general store, owned by Khaista Gul.

The bomb exploded when the owner opened the shop, they said.

Khaista Gul and his brother Saeed Gul were injured in the blast, they said. Both the injured brothers were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. A hospital source said that they were in stable condition.

An official of Matani police station said that suspected persons including Said Karim, Abdul Karim and Fazal Karim were taken into custody as they had some old enmity with the injured brothers.

He said that the arrested persons were under interrogation and it was yet to be ascertained if they were involved in the blast or not.

An official of Bomb Disposal Unit, when contacted, said that it was a low intensity locally prepared bomb, which was planted under the shop.

The blast also caused serious damage to the building and goods inside the shop.

Saeed Gul, when contacted, said that he had no relations with the peace bodies but his family had enmity with the arrested people, who had also killed his maternal uncle a few years ago.
