NAWABSHAH, May 15: The Nawabshah chapter of the Child Rights Committee has condemned a sexual assault on a boy in Sakrand town.

Zulfiqar Khaskheli, coordinator of the CRC, alleged that a rickshaw driver Gul Hassan Mallah had abducted the 14-year-old boy who worked as mechanic in a garage in Leelabad Mohalla, took him to his village and subjected him to sexual assault.

He said police had not yet arrested the culprit nor registered a case.

Over a dozen similar cases had been reported from several parts of the district over the past few years in which innocent children also lost their lives but no arrests were made or punishment given to any culprit.

Musnhi Shuban of Sakrand police station said police had issued a medical letter to the boy and samples would be sent to Rohri Laboratory.—BoC
