LAHORE, April 10: Two people, including a 12-year-old boy, were killed while another was injured in a shooting incident in Sahuwari Mohalla of Mughalpura on Sunday, police said.

Civil Lines division SP Operations Muhammad Omer Saeed told Dawn that Altaf, alias Kala Gujjar, 45, was sitting outside his house when four members of his rival group, Bahadara, arrived there at 9:30pm and opened indiscriminate fire at him.

He said the firing left Kala and boy Anan, who was the son of a Kala’s friend, and Basharat, Kala’s gunman, injured. He said both groups allegedly dealt in narcotics business and developed an enmity a few years ago when Altaf’s brother was murdered by the rival group.

He said the suspects fled the scene.
