Labourer found murdered TAXILA, April 9: A bullet-riddled body of a labourer was recovered from a deserted place near railway station in jurisdiction of Taxila police station on early hours of Saturday.

Police sources said that a passerby spotted the body and informed the police which reached the spot and shifted it to THQ hospital for autopsy.

Later, the deceased was identified as Nawab Khan, 35, a labour by profession. After legal procedure, the body was dispatched to his native town Charsadda. — Correspondent

Policeman booked CHAKWAL, April 9: A police inspector has been booked for letting loose his pet dog on a person, sources said on Saturday.

Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal, resident of Qazi Colony told the city police that he was going to the mosque for offering Isha prayer on Friday when Inspector Salim Akhtar of Chakwal police let his dog loose on him which bit his leg. As he raised alarm, the people rushed to the scene and freed him from the jaws of the dog.

However, the eyewitnesses dispelled the statement of Muhammad Iqbal by saying that Inspector Salim Akhtar’s servant was carrying the dog through the street. When Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal walked past the dog, it bit him. — A Correspondent

Two abductors held TAXILA, April 9: Two persons were arrested for abducting and sexually assaulting a teenaged girl. Irum Bibi, 17, reported to the police that she developed friendship with Kamran Ahmed on telephone who later took her to Rawalpindi on January 1 promising that he would marry her but he kept on assaulting her for four months.

Meanwhile, Kamran’s accomplice Shabbir Hussain also raped her. On her complaint, Wah Cantonment police registered a case against the accused and arrested them. — Correspondent
