GUJRANWALA, April 4: A local court on Monday issued warrants for the arrest of PML-N MNA Rana Muhammad Nazir, his son Rana Umer, two brothers and as many drivers for not appearing before the court in a land-grabbing case. The judge also directed the police to arrest all the accused and produce them in court in next hearing on April 9.

Reports said Muhammad Younas, a Wapda employee, had filed a private complaint in the court pleading that MNA Rana Nazir Ahmad, his son Rana Umer, his two brothers and two drivers occupied his 19 kanal agricultural land in Wahando, but the police were reluctant to register a case against them.

Earlier, additional sessions judge Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas had issued a notice to all the accused, but they did not appear in the court.

FIVE BOOKED: Five officials, including a regulation officer, of the Nandipur Town municipality were booked for corruption by the Anti-Corruption Establishment on Monday.
