ATTOCK, March 29: Three persons, including a retired army officer, were killed in separate incidents here on Tuesday. Police said Major (retired) Rafique Akbar along with his 14-year-old servant Faisal, a resident of Swabi, was found murdered in his house near Teenameal chowk on Attock-Kamra Road. Their throats were slit and hands and legs tied, said the police.

The police shifted the bodies to the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital for postmortem.

SHO city Inspector Israr Sathi said only the son of the deceased was present in the house while other inmates were in Quetta.

He said the bodies were still in the hospital which would be handed over to the relatives soon after their arrival here.

He said the deceased hailed from Swabi but was living in Attock city since long.

The police suspected that the incident was a result of an enmity over a land dispute.

However, investigation was underway to ascertain the actual motive behind the double murder incident.

In another incident, a man was shot dead by three persons in Ahmdal village of Pindigheb. Rafia Sultan reported to the police that her husband Abid Mehmood was allegedly attacked by Riasat Ali, Shakeel Ahmed and Fateh Khan, killing him on the spot.

The police registered a case against the accused but no arrest has been made so far.
