KARACHI, March 27: A young man was gunned down by unidentified men on M.A. Jinnah Road near the Radio Pakistan building in the early hours of Sunday.
A duty officer at the Preedy police station said that the victim was in his early 20s and his body had been shifted to the Edhi morgue for want of identification.The incident occurred at around 2am when the unidentified men riding a motorcycle opened fire on the victim, the police said.
He suffered multiple bullet wounds and was shifted to the Civil Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“The victim appears to be hailing from Azad Kashmir,” the duty officer added.
An FIR had been lodged against unidentified suspects at the Preedy police station on behalf of the state.
Youth gunned down
A young man was shot dead and two others, including a seven-year-old boy, were wounded when unidentified men riding a motorcycle opened fire on them in a Nazimabad locality on Sunday.
Police said that a few youngsters — Imranullah, son of Arifullah; Imran, son of Suliman, and a seven-year-old boy — were standing outside their house near the Gujjar Nullah within the remit of the Nazimabad police station when unidentified men riding a motorcycle arrived there and opened fire on them and sped away.
The wounded men were rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where Imranullah was pronounced dead on arrival while Imran and the boy were admitted to the hospital for treatment.
The police said that initial investigations suggested that the victims were not affiliated with any political party.
An FIR of the incident was not registered at the Nazimabad police station till the filing of this report.
