MARDAN, March 3: Two girls were killed in different incidents here, police said on Thursday.

In the first incident, a girl Maria was allegedly shot dead in Hoti area by her relatives Rohail, Faizl Wahab and Kashif hailing from Mohib Banda. The accused managed to escape after the incident.

Officials of Hoti police station quoted the victim's father Taj Mohammad as saying that he had refused to give hand of her daughter to one of the accused Rohail some days ago, which led to the killing of his daughter.

The Hoti police registered a case against the three accused on the complaint of Taj Mohammad.

In the second incident, a girl belonging to Taloona village of Toru area committed suicide by shooting herself with a pistol.

Gul Khitab, father of the victim girl, Bakhtawara, told police he returned home from his fields and found her daughter dead in a room with a pistol in her hand. MASTER PLAN: Commissioner Mardan Division Mohammad Adil Khan has directed the officials concerned to prepare a master plan to start work on the Bacha Khan Grand Education Complex on a 5,000 kanal of land acquired for the purpose in the city.

He was presiding over a high-level meeting held here on Thursday. Vice-Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University Prof Dr Ihsan Ali, project director of agriculture university campus Dr Dawood Jan, vice-principle of Bacha Khan Medical College Dr Khalid, DCO Mohammad Shah and other concerned officials attended the meeting.

The meeting was told that as per the directives of Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti, well-equipped buildings for the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Bacha Khan Medical College and Ameer Mohammad Khan Campus of Peshawar Agriculture University would be constructed in the Bacha Khan Grand Education Complex.

The participants called for hiring a skilled and experienced consultant for preparing the master plan.
