MULTAN, March 2: Former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said as comparisons were being drawn between him and former president and People's Party dissident Farooq Leghari, he decided to visit Sindh to renew his commitment to the philosophy of ZA Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

Talking to journalists here on Wednesday, the former foreign minister said if he were Farooq Leghari, who stabbed in his party's back, he would not have visited the grave of Benazir Bhutto.

“I am not a person who hatches conspiracies behind closed doors. I will make public whatever decision I will take,” he said.

He said he did not believe in conspiracies and only time will prove his loyalty to the PPP, adding he would remain in the party and ministry was not his destination. He said the party did not serve any show-cause notice to him and there was no truth in such reports.

Refusing to comment on Unification Bloc, he said the matter is sub judice. However, he said, the development was damaging for democracy as when Nawaz Sharif was taking stand against dictatorship, these people had changed their loyalties.

“Today these people (Unification Bloc) are once again changing their loyalties for their own benefit,” he said.

He condemned the killing of minorities' affairs minister Shahbaz Bhatti saying that has damaged the image of Pakistan at the international level.—Staff Correspondent
