Two policemen killed

KARACHI, Feb 26: Two policemen were killed in Gulshan-i-Iqbal when unknown persons opened fire at them on Saturday night.

The incident occurred in Quaid-i-Azam Colony, in the jurisdiction of Mobina Town police station.

The two policemen, head constables Zaheer Ahmed and Maqsood were on duty at the Quaid-i-Azam Colony when they were caught up in a cross-fire between the Awami National Party and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, SP Naeem Sheikh told Dawn.

The police were trying to create a buffer when the two men received gunshots, the police official said.
