Two killed; body found

PESHAWAR, Feb 26: Two persons were killed were killed and a body was found in the provincial metropolis on Saturday. A six-year-old girl identified as Saima was killed and her brother Khalid injured when an unidentified man opened firing on them with an automatic weapon near City Railway Station here on Saturday.

Mir Baz Khan of Shaikhabad told police that the girl was his granddaughter, who along with her family members was on way home when came under attack. He said that they had had no enmity.

The injured and body of the girl were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. A case against unidentified murderer was registered.

In another incident, an Afghan national identified as Shakar Din was shot at Peshtakhara Chowk. He succumbed to his injuries in a local hospital.

His brother Nazar Din told police that they had a land dispute with another Afghan Qalandar Khan. Police said that a murder case had been registered against the accused at Peshtakhara police station but he could not be arrested.

Meanwhile, a body was found near Board Bazaar in the limits of Town police station. The body was shifted to local mortuary for autopsy.

A policeman said that Mohammad Tariq of Fateh Jhang later recognised the deceased as his father Mohammad Feroz Khan.

He said that his father had come to Peshawar in connection with some work but died of cardiac arrest.

He said police informed him by telephone after recovering some papers from deceased’s pocket that contained his number. —Bureau Report
