MIRPURKHAS, Feb 19: Seven accused were booked for kidnapping a couple and an attempt to murder them.

A resident of Malhi Mohalla in Khipro town, Wazir Rind, lodged a case under sections 364, 324, 147, 148, 149 and 114 PPC with Khipro police, accusing Fareed, Shakoor, Faheem, Yasin, Ghulam Ali, Noshad and Shoban of kidnapping Riaz Rind and Fareeda alias Fareena from Hyderabad where they had gone for court marriage.

He said that the accused had brought them to Khipro and shot at them, injuring the couple near a bus stand. Police had not arrested accused, he said.

On Feb 18, police reached the spot and shifted the injured to the taluka hospital of Khipro. But they were referred to Liaquat University Hospital because of serious condition.

Injured Fareena said that her brother had attacked them after kidnapping.
