LAHORE, Feb 13: A 24-year-old man who was shot at and injured late on Saturday at Bund Road by two motorcyclists died on Sunday, Shafeeqabad police said.

The two motorcyclists approached Usman, of Khanewal, who was standing at a bus stop on Bund Road near Batti Chowk and demanded cash and cell phone from him.

They opened fire at him when Usman offered resistance. He was shifted to Mayo Hospital where he died early Sunday.

Police registered a case under murder and robbery charges. The body was handed over to the family after autopsy.

SUCCUMBS: A property dealer died of his critical burns at Mayo Hospital on Sunday a few days after he was allegedly set on fire at the residence of his second wife in Ghalib Market.

Ghalib Market police said 40-year-old Imran, of Mozang, caught fire mysteriously eight days ago when he was staying with his second wife Naseem Bibi.

Imran, who had seven children from his first wife Shabana, contracted second marriage with Naseem Bibi, of Ghalib Market, a couple of years ago and used to visit her secretly.

Police handed over the body to the family without autopsy and disposed of the case.

Another young man succumbed to his wounds in Jinnah Hospital on Sunday four days after he had a quarrel with three people over children and received gunshots in Chuhng.

Muhammad Ashraf and his brother Muhammad Aslam got into arguments with suspects Azhar, Shahbaz, Nawaz and their accomplices when children of both sides quarreled with each other.

Azhar and his accomplices allegedly opened fire killing Aslam instantly while Ashraf died in the hospital.

ACCIDENT: A youth was killed in a road accident involving a motorcycle and a bus near Shahdara Mor on Sunday.

Shahdara police said 20-year-old Hafiz Muhammad Khalid was going along with his cousin on his motorcycle when a passenger bus hit them.

Khalid died instantly while his cousin escaped unhurt.

Passerby captured the driver and handed him over to the police.
