KARACHI, Feb 7: A suspected bandit was killed and his aide wounded during a shoot-out with police in the Mauripur area near Northern Bypass on Monday, police said.

They said that two armed men on a motorbike intercepted a passer-by near Northern Bypass, snatched his cellphone and cash and escaped.

“The victim approached a police patrol and informed them about the incident,” said Mauripur SHO Sub-Inspector Nasarullah Khan.

“The police van chased the bike riders who fired at the police. This led to an exchange of gunfire and one of the bandits died while his wounded aide was arrested, he said.
