VEHARI, Feb 7: A dacoit was killed and his five accomplices managed their escape in an armed clash during a robbery here on Monday morning at Qadir Wah village of Tibba Sultanpur, some 30km from here. Reports said six dacoits entered the house of landlord Mohammad Anwar. They held some family members hostage while others opened fire on dacoits. During the armed clash, a robber was killed while his five accomplices managed their escape.

The police claimed that the dacoit was killed by the firing of his own accomplice whereas witnesses said one of the family members killed him.

The deceased was not identified till the filing of the report.
