LAHORE, Feb 3: A 50-year-old man was found murdered in a graveyard of Ichhra here on Thursday.

The police termed it a blind murder saying Ashiq Husain of Pir Ghazi Road and his family had no enmity. He was shot in the head.

The family suspected that he might have been killed by robbers on resistance as his purse was missing.

Quoting the family, the police said Ashiq left his residence to offer fateha at the grave of his mother. When he did not return for hours, his relatives visited the graveyard and found him lying in a pool of blood. He was shifted to Services Hospital where doctors confirmed his death.

A case has been registered against unidentified killer(s) on the complaint of deceased’s brother Mushtaq.

The area people captured one of the fleeing robbers, later identified as Iftikhar, and handed him over to the police. A case was registered against the four suspects on the complaint of injured Saqib.

He said the arrested suspect, Iftikhar, admitted that Zulfiqar was his accomplice.
