BAHAWALPUR, Jan 26: Yazman police claimed on Tuesday night to have arrested Humair Irshad alias Raja, son of a retired DSP, for his alleged involvement in a kidnap for ransom case.

According to police sources, Irshad's other accomplices Waseem Ahmed Saeedi alias Bhutto, Shabbir, Wazir and Manzoor nominated in the FIR are yet to be arrested.

Yazman police on the complaint of Iftikhar Bhatti, Iftikhar Arain, Mumtaz Husain and Jamshed of village 88-DB had registered an FIR No 47/11 on Jan 24, 2011.

The complainants said they were on their way by a car when the accused allegedly abducted them on June 28, 2010. The captors took them to a Sindh riverian area, detained them for two months and demanded ransom for their release.

According to complainants, they jointly paid a sum of Rs3.2 million to the accused, who released them and brought them in a boat to Rohri on Aug 31, 2010. They said the police had yet to recover their snatched car.
