PESHAWAR, Jan 15: Suspected militants fired five rockets at Matni police station in the wee hours on Saturday, but missed the target, said officials.

An official of the rural circle police said that the rockets had been fired from a nearby graveyard but the attackers missed the target.

“The police had also retaliated but the attackers could not be targeted due to darkness,” he said and added that movement of the militants had increased in the area for past some days.

He said that the militants had also blown up the Matni grid station a few days ago but so far no accused had been arrested in this regard. The rockets, he said had landed at about 2am.
