KARACHI, Dec 18: The body of a young man was found near the Northern Bypass on Saturday, police said. They said the victim had sustained serious head injuries and his body was spotted by some transport operators passing through the main road running parallel to the Northern Bypass. They informed the area police about the body and the place where it was lying. The police shifted the body to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.

“The victim sustained multiple head injuries apparently caused by some heavy object,” said an official at the Mauripur police station. “The victim was wearing sky-blue shalwar-kameez and seemed to be in his early 30s. We have found nothing on him or at the crime-scene that could help establish his identity.”

He said that according to the medico-legal officials in their initial findings, the death was not the cause of any road accident but the victim was hit repeatedly on his head and the injuries proved to be fatal.

“We have shifted the body to the Edhi morgue at Sohrab Goth for identification and for tracing out his family members before registering an FIR,” added the official.
