ATTOCK, Dec 16: Police on Thursday made progress in moneychanger murder case when they arrested the main accused. The hunt for the other three is still on.

The four accused had allegedly killed the moneychanger after looting him of Rs4.2 million on Wednesday. The arrested man was a friend of the deceased and mastermind of the incident, it has been learnt.

Besides, the district police officer (DPO) also constituted a five-member team to investigate the incident.

Police sources said the moneychanger, Shah Rehman, who was also the ex-manager of a private bank and cousin of DIG (operation) Islamabad Bani Ameen, in his dying statement to some of his family members said the main accused, Fazaldad, and three others were involved in the incident.

Shah Rehman had said Fazaldad, also a former bank manager, had asked him to bring $50,000 to his home.

Sources said he was attacked near Sheenbagh village when he was on his way to deliver the amount to them.

Soon after the disclosure, a police team arrested Fazaldad in a surprise raid and recovered the car of the deceased moneychanger from some distance of Sheenbagh village with the help of a tracker.
