ISLAMABAD, Dec 14: A reporter and a cameraman of DawnNews was briefly detained by the guards of PML-N politician Anjum Aqeel when they went to his office to get his version on some allegation levelled against him by one of his party colleagues.

Atif Khan told Dawn that he along with cameraman Asif Mirza went to Margalla police station after getting information that a local PLM-N leader was there to lodge a case against Mr Aqeel.

While talking to the reporter, the local leader, Mohammad Siddique, repeated the allegation against Mr Aqeel.

Later, the reporter reached the office of Mr Aqeel at E-11 to get his version, but he was not available there. His guards detained the reporter and the cameraman in a room.

However, the two journalists informed their seniors and the police who rushed to the spot and got them freed.

Despite several attempts, the available number of Anjum Aqeel was found switched off.—Staff Reporter
