SIALKOT, Nov 21: The police claimed on Sunday to have arrested two of the seven people who had tortured a youth and forced his family to flee home.

The seven people had shaved off the youth's head, eyebrows and moustache on the 'order' of a local jury for allegedly having illicit relations with a girl at Aall Ghmanaan village.

Reports said villagers sought intervention of local elders when they found Shahbaz developing illicit relations with a girl. The panchayat meeting held at the outhouse of Chaudhry Allah Rakha declared Shahbaz guilty and ordered punishment.

Several people thrashed Shahbaz by beating him up with iron rods and hockey sticks and shaved off his head, eyebrows and moustache. They also blackened his face and forced him and his family to leave the village.

Zafarwal police SHO Khwaja Khawar told journalists the police had registered a case against seven suspects and arrested two of them. He said the remaining people including the jury head would be arrested soon.
