KARACHI, Nov 15: A young man was shot dead in Azizabad in the early hours of Monday, police said.

They said the victim, identified as Tauseef alias Guddu Chamri, was sitting with his friends in a camp set up for sacrificial animals, when two men on a motorbike stopped near the facility, near Memon Masjid in Siddiqabad.

“One of the motorcyclists got off, pulled out a 9mm pistol and fired multiple shots targeting Tauseef,” said an official at the Azizabad police station. “He sustained two bullet wounds and died on the spot. The attackers escaped and the body was later moved to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.”

The police said the victim was a resident of the same area and had been associated with a betting den running in the area. They said the killing seemed the result of personal enmity.
